The Forum

Edit: The forum is now fixed to be viewed by guests.

Hey everyone,
Well we've got a pretty basic forum up for you all to join and get to know one another. Here's the link. I will be needing some willing people who would like to be Moderators on the forum. We are sometimes a little preoccupied with making the episodes, so taking some of this load off us would be great. If this is something you'd like to do, just email us with a little something about yourself. If you are or have been a moderator, that would be a big PLUS in who we pick to help us out on the forum.

Movin' Along

Well we are now writing the script for Episode 5.  We spent the few nights talking about what's going in this episode.  The script should be finished within the next day or so and we will then begin recording dialog.

Thanks to everyone who's been watching the Series and to those who have subscribed to the You Tube Channel.  Since Episode 4 came out, we've seen a crazy amount of increase in activity and views.  Much of which is due to our friends over at Smooth Few Films, creators of The Leet World.  If you haven't seen them, check them out.  Their first season is coming to a wrap soon, with part 2 of 3 of the finale being released sometime this week.  It's sure to be an awesome episode.

That's all for now.

Episode 4 is up!

Here's the spread

I've been asked by some of you to share what hardware, software, etc. that I use in making these episodes, so here's the skinny. The computer that I use is a 24-inch iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo, OSX 10.4.1.1 and 500 GB of memory. I record dialog using a Logitech Desktop USB mic, its not the highest grade mic out there, but it still does a wonderful job. And for $20, you can go wrong.

Since I work with a Mac, it took me a while to find a Analog/Digital converter to be able to capture footage from the game to my computer. If you're working with a PC, you have more options at your fingertips some of which are a pretty decent price. I'm using a converter box called Director's Cut which is made by a company that no longer exists (Power-R). I think they were bought out by Miglia because there is a similar product called Director's Cut Take 2. I lucked out and found this on eBay for about $15, when it normally retailed for around $200. The best part is, it runs through FireWire (which works best on Macs).

I also run audio out to a Sony 4 speaker stereo and the video out to a 14" preview monitor.

The programs I use are Adobe Photoshop CS2 (for any titles or pictures of the like), Soundtrack Pro 1.5 (for recording dialog, cut together Sound Effects/Music), and Final Cut Express HD 3.5 (for editing it all together). And although I use Final Cut Express HD, I am not capturing in HD or exporting in HD. HD requires loads of memory, and I'm not in the market to starting my own Terabyte farm just yet.

Here's a picture of my setup we took while working on Episode 2. Some parts are a little dark, but it'll give you a general idea of what we are working with.

And here...we...go

Filming started last night and is well under way. Much discussion of some jokes in the 4th episode resulted in a few minutes of laughing, followed by expanding a few scenes. You may or may not see a glimpse of who this new employee is on the base...you never know. More filming to continue tonight and well through the week to be able to release on the 21st. Enjoy your Tuesday!

Good session

Well we got the script for the 4th episode all finished and we start on recording some dialog last night.  Recording will continue this afternoon, with hopefully being finished by tonight, which will leave us to start filming tomorrow.  The episode will be out the 21st for sure, if not sooner (depending on how smoothly everything runs).  Enjoy your father's day!

On Hold

Just a heads up for everyone, the Spriggs episode that we have a cameo in won't be released until later in the coming week.  One of the guys on their crew lost his father yesterday morning.  Out of respect for him they are waiting to release the episode.  Keep them in your thoughts.

You are cordially invited...

Hey everyone,
The crew over at Running Gun Studios (aka Spriggs) have invited us (the cast of Forecast) to play a cameo in their next episode which comes out this weekend (hopefully the 14th). So be sure to check it out on their YouTube Channel this weekend for the video. It'll be a scene with Craig and the rest of the gang. I will also put the episode in our favorites on our channel as well as a link on the website to watch the episode.

Not much has been done yet on episode 4 this week since we were recording some audio last night for their episode. But it is now well under way. Still not sure when the 4th episode will be released though. Anyways, that's all for now. Later.

Spread the Word

Hey everyone,
Well I'm sure all of you have gotten the chance to check out Episode three. So far it seems like its the favorite of the three that are out. We are sure planning that the fourth episode will have you laughing and continue to make the series better.

Alot of subscribers on our YouTube channel all have said a fairly common thing: "This is a great series, but lacks exposure" or "I'm surprised not many know about this series." So we want you, our trusted viewers, to spread the word about the series. If you are part of a blog, forum, website, whatever, post something that will let others know about the series.

Have a good one!
